Promotion

Why steps are promoted to autonomy, and how their health is tracked.

The Promotion screen (/admin/promotion) shows, per step, whether it has been promoted to autonomous (L1) operation, and the evidence behind it.

What promotion means

An L2 step (automation + human approval) can be promoted to L1 (autonomous) once it proves itself. Promotion is backed by evidence:

  • A scenario eval batch that passed (n ≥ 100).
  • A corpus replay of at least 30 previously approved cases.
  • Both below a maximum failure-rate threshold.

Promotion is reversible. See drift detection.

No steps ship promoted today, and promotion is not triggered automatically: it is set in the workflow definition (a configuration change). The screen shows "No promotion data" until a step has been promoted or a health check has recorded a row.

The screen

Each step shows:

  • Its name and template key.
  • A promoted / L2·L3 badge.
  • Its health history: healthy, unhealthy, insufficient_data, or invalid, with reasons.
  • The promotion report: the evidence JSON, or "not promoted".
A promoted step is still spot-checked: a fraction of its outputs are routed back for human review.
